Money comes from lots of places, but it takes hard work to earn it.

Money does not grow on trees or fall from the sky! Money is earned by working, and you can only spend what you earn. Grownups have jobs outside of the home so they can buy food, clothing and a comfortable house for themselves and their children. Different jobs pay different amounts of money.

Can you think of ways to help your parents around the house? Some parents give their children money or an allowance so they can earn their own money by doing chores. Examples of chores may be cleaning your room, setting the table, taking the rubbish out to the bins or even helping in the garden.
